Tech Mahindra take over-Better scope for electronics and communication engineers

Tech Mahindra take over- Better scope for electronics and Communication engineers in the country
Dr.T.P.Sethumadhavan
Tech Mahindra’s recent decision to take control over Satyam Computers will be a major step in up lifting the Indian IT industry during economic recession. Its impact will facilitate a quantum jump in Indian IT industry when Satyam scandal has questioned the ethics of Indian IT industry. Tech Mahindra can restore the lost morale and ethics of Satyam computers. While analyzing the impact with respect to education and career, it will help to regain confidence among IT engineers, students, parents and stakeholders in the IT industry. We must take in to account the anxiety of students who have been selected through campus interviews! Satyam board has taken a decision not to give appointments to them during this crisis period. But Tech Mahindra sources are against retrenchment and ready to accommodate 48000 of Satyam employees totaling about 74000 employees. Tech Mahindra will try to restore more than 280 Satyam clients in United States who provides more than 60 percent revenue to the company and can create better image for Indian IT industry abroad.

While analyzing the take over of Satyam by Tech Mahindra, major strength is this company is involved in Telecommunication industry which is emerging as one of the major sectors which has not been affected during recession. Moreover with the advancement of technology, telecom sector will exhibit substantial growth during the coming yeas. India ranks fourth in Telecom sector in the world. By 2012 country will exhibit remarkable growth in the communication sector. This will pave the way for better career potential for engineering graduates with electronics and communication, electronics, IT, Mechatronics, Nanotechnology etc. While Mechatronics and Nano technology are emerging as the future technologies, Tech Mahindra has already established a major role in applied mechatronics and may become one of the IT majors in the country in the near future.
